A story about the connection the new book, "Great Houses of Summit Avenue and the Hill District," has to the City of Duluth, Minn., ran in the Duluth Budgeteer over the weekend of Dec. 14 & 15. Duluth, home to the Glensheen Mansion, was the perfect place to promote this book. The home at 807 Summit Avenue, profiled on pages 150 - 161, was designed by the same architect, Clarence Johnston, and there are some striking similarities.
On Dec. 15th, Karen Melvin, the book's publisher and photographer, signed books at:
Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Miller Hill Mall, Duluth, Sun., Dec. 15th from 1pm - 2pm
The Fitgers Bookstore, Duluth, Sun., Dec. 15th from 3pm - 4pm.
On Dec. 13, The St. Paul Pioneer Press mentioned the book again in the article, Gift-worthy picture books and fiction with a Minnesota state of mind.
